What is the word « château » used in Bordeaux?
Most of the Bordeaux wines are labeled as « Château ». This word means « castle », but in Bordeaux it also has another important meaning: winery.
A winery is a producer that goes through the process of growing grapes and bottling them. In Bordeaux, a winery is called a « château ».
